From one embroidery design to 55,000 sq ft of our own
In 2004 a class 11 science student in Surat started designing for embroidery machines. This is how that one design screen became Dhananjay Creations Private Limited and Dhananjay House.
Why the name Dhananjay
Before 2004, our father ran a contractor firm called Dhananjay in Bhavnagar, Gujarat. Dhananjay is one of Arjun's names: the conqueror of wealth, the winner of riches. We kept the name, and built a textile house around it.
The story, year by year
Keep scrolling: the years move sideways.
- 2004The beginning
A student at the design screen
Himmat Mangukiya is in class 11, studying science, when he starts making designs for computer embroidery machines.
- 2004–06Unit to unit
Designing on the shop floor
He goes from one small embroidery unit to the next in Katargam and Varachha, Surat, and makes their designs right there, next to the machines.
- 2008The first machine
One Times 9-head machine
The first embroidery machine arrives, and Dhananjay Creation starts as a proprietor firm, doing job work for Surat's textile market.
- 2009Degree
Computer science, completed
College is done with a degree in computer science, while the machine keeps running job work.
- 2011Eight at once
Eight machines in one go
Eight new machines come in together, and DCPL starts doing job work the market knows for quality and accuracy.
- 2011 →More work than machines
50 machines on our sub job work
Orders grow faster than our own floor, so work also goes out to partner units: about 50 machines running DCPL's sub job work. We still work this way today.
- 2016Growing
Ten more machines
Ten more machines join the floor to keep up with the work.
- 2017Our own goods
From job work to our own sarees
Eight more machines, and a bigger change: we stop taking job work from others, buy the fabric ourselves and make our own sarees, sold by catalogue straight to wholesalers, so the margin goes to them.
- 2018A company
Dhananjay Creations Private Limited
The business is incorporated as Dhananjay Creations Private Limited on 7 May 2018 (Registrar of Companies, Ahmedabad).

- TodayNow
Every kind of fabric, made and woven for us
Made on our own machines and woven for us by partner units, including rapier jacquard looms. Supplied straight to wholesalers and shop owners across India, and exported to the USA, the UK, the Gulf and beyond.
The quality that built us
It's Dhananjay's goods. Don't check them, send them straight to packing.
That is what traders in Surat’s textile market said, again and again, when a tempo brought our job work to their shop. No faults, nothing to send back. That trust is what filled our order book.
One machine, then more work than machines
Machines we bought along the way, and the sub job work we give out when our own floor is full: about 50 machines then, and it still runs today, with rapier jacquard looms weaving fabric for us too. Our own floor runs 12 machines, old and new.

Dhananjay House
We bought the land in 2019 and opened Dhananjay House in 2021: one building where a design becomes a finished, packed product without leaving our hands.
