About this saree

This off-white Banarasi soft silk saree carries a subtle self-woven pattern on the body, set against a broad, heavy gold zari border with a thin navy blue edging. The pallu is woven almost entirely in gold zari with a navy blue end panel and tassels, giving the saree a regal, kanjivaram-inspired finish. The navy edging adds a crisp line that keeps the gold border from looking flat.

At about 555 grams, the soft silk has a smooth, rich drape. The saree is 5.5 meters long with a 0.8 meter unstitched blouse piece; a navy or gold blouse works well with the border. The light body and heavy border make it a favourite for Kerala-style and South Indian occasions, and the gold zari photographs beautifully under both natural and indoor light.
